Point in time when character has been taken from canon:
Post-FFVII but pre-Advent Children.

Character History: Cloud grew up in a sheltered mountain
village, a child with dreams of greater things. Of honour. Once he
came of an age, he left his childhood hometown for the big city, there
to train as an elite soldier. To all concerned it seemed as though he
had realised his dream to stand shoulder-to-shoulder alongside the
greatest heroes of their time. However, Cloud lost his way, caught up
in the machinations of the corporation he had enlisted to fight for.
Years passed, and Cloud found work as mercenary, oblivious to all
except the job at hand. It was through this line of work that he
joined up with a ragtag band of eco-terrorists bent on destroying the
mega-corporation Cloud himself had worked for. It was only then, aided
by the friendship and trust that slowly grew between Cloud and the
others in his group, that the veil of deceit he had woven around
himself fell away. He discovered that he had created a
self-fabrication for himself so powerful that even he himself believed
it; that he had been a soldier in an elite corps. That he had fought
against the greatest adversary the world had ever faced and lived to
tell the tale. In shame and self-loathing, Cloud had created for
himself an illusion pieced together from other peoples' truths. It
broke him to realise what he had been doing to himself, but from that
clean slate he could rebuild himself, a true and whole person.
AVALANCHE, with Cloud's leadership, went on to defeat the great menace
that threatened the world, but not without a price that had to be
paid: the destruction of their most advanced city, and the fall of the
mega-corporation that was the de-facto government of their time.

Character Personality: Cloud is a loner. Introverted and
self-critical, he still retains much of the self-loathing that led to
his mental breakdown two years beforehand. Slow to make friends, he
can be standoffish and prickly at the best of times, and stone-cold
mute at the worst. His temper is on a long fuse, but once roused is
difficult to extinguish. Cloud is insular and fragile, prone to
self-doubt. If he could discover that everything he believed about
himself was false once, what's to stop it from happening again?

As a result of his self-loathing, Cloud would very much believe he
belonged in such a purgatory as he would find himself in prison. It
could set him back considerably in terms of his mental health, though
he is more likely to become withdrawn than aggressive.

Physical Description: Though he may be wiry, there is no
mistake that Cloud is physically imposing. At 5'8 he is fairly tall,
with a physique honed by years of training as a soldier and hard work
as a mercenary. A stark contrast to his face, with its soft features
and unruly blonde hair. Some have said that his eyes have an usual
iridescence to them, a dull glow barely noticeable but to those who
know to look for it.
